For manufacturers

Manufacturer Quotes buys products from manufacturers and resells them to ecommerce brands. This page explains the two ways your company may meet us: as a listing in our public directory, and as a factory we ask for a quote.

Listings

The directory is being built now, and these are the rules it follows. We list manufacturers from public sources, and every fact shows its source and date. To correct a fact, or to be removed, email hello@manufacturerquotes.com from your company domain. Removal takes effect within 2 business days and is permanent unless you ask to be relisted. Listing is free and does not affect whether we request quotes from you. If your company does not use email on its own domain, write from an address that your website lists; we may reply to that address to confirm before we act.

A company appears only when enough of its facts come from sources we can cite, such as certification databases, government registries and the company's own website, and a second check has confirmed each sourced fact before it is shown. The methodology sets out the sources and checks.

What a listing never shows:

• A link to your website, or your web address as text.
• Contact details, or the names of your owners or staff.
• Ratings, badges or claims that we have inspected or approved your company.

Every listing, and every list of companies, says that the companies are listed from public sources and are not affiliated with Manufacturer Quotes. A listing does not mean you endorse us, and we do not say or imply that you do.

Correcting a fact

If a fact about your company is wrong, email hello@manufacturerquotes.com from your company domain and tell us which fact and what is correct. We suppress a disputed fact within 2 business days. You may give us a replacement for your own company's facts; we show it as stated by your company to us, with the date. The report an error page covers the details.

Order of listings

Lists of companies are ordered by the number of public sourced facts we hold for each, then by name from A to Z, and the basis is printed beside every list. We do not sell placement. If we ever offer paid placement, it will be labelled as paid wherever it appears, and this page and the methodology will say how it affects order.

When we ask you for a quote

These are the rules every quote request we send follows. We ask factories for quotes in our own name, as a buyer that resells the goods. Our requests come from hello@manufacturerquotes.com, carry our business address, and include a line you can use to ask us to stop writing to you. If you use it, we stop. We write only to company addresses, such as sales or export inboxes or a contact form on your website, never to a person's own address.

We cannot promise how many requests any factory will receive. Whether we ask you depends on the product, the quantity and the country each buyer needs, and on how your quotes compare. Being listed does not make you more or less likely to be asked.

When we order from you, we are your customer and we pay you. Your prices stay between you and us: the brand we sell to sees only our price, which includes our service and margin.

We do not name you to our customer while it compares quotes. If it orders, the import documents name you where customs or compliance rules require.

A brand that orders is the importer, and we give it the details about you that its import filings and any product certificate, registration or listing need. Our terms of sale require the brand to keep what it learns about you confidential and limit how it may use it.
